The Vernon area is truly a land of plenty with orchards pregnant with fruit, fresh vegetables, honey, and organically grown meats.
Follow your nose (or this handy map) to Davison Orchards. Here you can sample and buy in season fruits and vegetables from their orchard and gardens. Fresh fruits and vegetables, and all the goodies they make from them, are grown right here on the farm.
Planet Bee, located next door to Davison Orchards, is a farm of a different kind. This is a honey farm where you will find plenty of flavours of local honey and dozens of bee products to choose from, including award-winning mead. Planet Bee is open all year with extended summer hours. See Visitor Info page for details.
The Triple Island Cheese farm, outside of Cherryville at 1519 Highway 6, is known for its world class Gouda and Maasdammer cheeses. The farm produces 10 types of Goudse kaas using milk from their own cows. The ochre wheels of Gouda come in all kinds of great flavours including: tomato and garlic, peppercorn and cumin.
Take a trip to Peter's UPick at 6244 Rimer Road and spend your summer day picking fresh Okanagan cherries. Peter's has about 2,000 trees for you to pick as many fresh cherries as you want. You can also get Baba's blue berries and Baba's Garlic, as well as some of Baba's freshly picked garden veggies, all grown on site.
