The small boat race is approximately 10 km and any form of boat is acceptable (self propelled that is!) including stand up paddle.
Even if you are not racing be sure to plan your OC-6 rigging around the race so you can watch and cheer.

See the progress being made on the restoration of the original 1912 tower clock from Vernon’s old post office. The clock is now running and keeping time in the museum!
Original art work from the museum’s collection by Vernon artists; Allan Brooks, Baroness Herry, Tommy Brayshaw, Janet Middleton, Charles Holliday, and Howard Totenhofer will be on exhibit in the Allan Brooks Gallery along with pottery by Axel Ebring and argillite carvings from Haida Gwaii.

You are invited to be a part of this community spirited, family event, honouring the ‘Harvest’ and the farmers, where ‘Green Street’ and a variety of Energy & Healing ‘free’ Workshops www.backtoearthenviroproducts.com blend together with a ‘Kidz Zone’ (a pool and play area on site), local Artisans, Multi-Cultural Food Vendors, Suds n’ Ciders, and Musicians to create a 2 day, fun-filled event.

An exciting annual event hosted by the Vernon Public Art Gallery titled “Riot on the Roof”. It takes place in the city’s parkade (above the art gallery) and is a free community event.
This event provides them with a unique venue to view and participate in alternative forms of art and entertainment in a fun and safe environment. The evening will feature live music, video screenings, and interactive artwork from local and nearby artists. This is a public drug and alcohol-free event and all ages are encouraged to take part.

During the last week of August 2012, the Okanagan Brigade Society will be hosting a Voyageurs' Brigade with guests from across Canada, the United States, and possibly from other nations. They are expecting as many as 15 to 20 Voyager canoes with up to 200 paddlers participating.
On the voyage they will paddle Wood Lake, Kalamalka Lake and Okanagan Lake; visiting the communities of Vernon, Fintry, Kelowna, West Bank, Peachland, Summerland, Naramata, Penticton, Kaledon, and Okanagan Falls.

Music is in the air! Every Tuesday from now until Tuesday September 11th, Predator Ridge guests and residents can turn-up and tune-in to live music, part of the Music on the Patio series. The concerts will be held every Tuesday at Predator Ridge’s Clubhouse from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm – perfect timing for a little after-work relaxation.
Free to attend, the performances will feature local Okanagan musicians, who draw from a playlist that range from acoustic to jazz to modern & old-time favourites. Guests are encouraged to kick back on our patio and enjoy the music – as well as a selection of delicious appetizer and beverage specials.

Growing variety of in season fruit and vegetables, plus crafts, jewelry ethnic foods, baking and much more. Open every Friday from 3-7pm, this helpful and friendly market offers lots of easy, free parking and it's a "great place to stock up for the weekend!"
Get ready for more live entertainment downtown. Okanagan-based musicians will perform live along Vernon’s main street, while visual artists will paint, draw and create their art, inviting passers-by to see their process and inspiration.
