    Museum

The Greater Vernon Museum and Archives is home to nine permanent exhibits that depict the local history of the North Okanagan. Tracing the area’s roots from the early days of the Interior Salish, into the fur trade, gold rush and cattle ranching eras right through both World Wars to the present cadet camp, the Museum is the perfect place to take a step back in time. The Museum also offers an archives department that is one of the most respected in the province, a gallery devoted to the original works of Allan Brooks, and a gift shop that offers a unique selection of historical books and other Okanagan-styled gifts.
