Curling has taken the country by storm and Vernon is no exception! Having hosted several tournaments, including men’s and women’s championships (the most recent being the 2010 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling) Vernon loves to watch and play the game. Equine
Horseback riding, overnight pack trips, carriage rides, even horse-drawn theatre presentations can be enjoyed right here in Greater Vernon. Fore! That’s the sound that rings across Greater Vernon’s five golf courses throughout many months of the year. Generally open from April to November, these five courses give golfers an opportunity to play their best round on their choice of course. Hockey
Hockey fans love the Vernon Vipers! Our hometown BCHL team has captured six national titles since 1990 and in doing so, has created a North Okanagan following. Home games are played at the Wesbild Centre while away games are broadcast on KISS FM, Vernon’s local radio station.

Every year, the Vernon Lawn Bowling Club hosts a tournament in conjunction with the Funtastic Slo-Pitch Tournament and lawnbowlers from across the Pacific Northwest come to Vernon to take part! The Vernon Lawn Bowling Club is an active group and encourages people to come down to the greens to try it out – you’re never too young to learn!
