Sport Tourism

Sport Tourism is one of the fastest emerging sectors in BC and Greater Vernon has been actively doing it for years. Whether it’s world class events like the 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championships or the 2008 Telus Skins Golf Tournament or more regional fun like our Funtastic Sport Festival, we can assist all sport event planners.

Tourism Vernon operates as part of the Tourism Services department of the City of Vernon. We work in close partnership with sport organizations in our community including our own Recreation department. What does that mean? That it’s very easy to do some one-stop shopping when planning your next sporting event in our community.

What we (and our friends down the hall) can do:

• Venue descriptions, inventories and allocation
• Hosting experience
• Community engagement (volunteers, transportation, accommodation, suppliers)
• Event extras (social activity suggestions)
• Bid support
• Event promotion
