Do you have a green thumb? Have you ever grown a giant pumpkin? We do mean GIANT – minimum 300lbs – big enough to fit in an adult paddler. What? Yes, we need pumpkins for boat races in Okanagan Lake.

The Weigh-in will be held at Davison Orchards on October 19, 2019 at 11:00am. Prizes for the biggest pumpkin will be awarded for the following categories:

Be at Kin Beach on October 26th to cheer on your favourite pumpkin. Paddle time runs from 1 to 3 pm.
Seeds have been planted and growing in anticipation of the pumpkin boat race at the Great Pumpkin Classic. Giant pumpkin seeds are STILL available at the Vernon Visitor Information Centre, it’s not too late & you can watch your pumpkin grow on social media!
On October 26, participants will be racing their giant pumpkins at Kin Beach. What better way to support your community than sponsoring your very own giant pumpkin!
All proceeds will go to the Vernon Starfish Pack Program, which provides weekend meals for Vernon school children.

Great Vernon Pumpkin Classic - Pumpkin Paddle- Itinerary
1:00pm - Registration of Pumpkin Paddlers
1:30pm - Paddlers in the water
1:40pm- Pumpkin race to begin
2:00pm - Completion of the race
2:15pm - Trophy presentation
2:30pm- Pumpkin cleanup for delivery to the Warren Peace Bunny Sanctuary
1–3:00pm- Valley First Community crew will be on site providing entertainment for families face painting ect & Pumpkin kids Photo booth available
*Paddlers do not need to arrive before 12:45pm
