The COVID-19 pandemic remains dynamic and new information and guidelines continue to be released by health authorities as more information becomes available. The City of Vernon and Tourism Vernon continue to follow the guidance and direction of the Provincial Health Officer, BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and senior levels of government, in our response to the local impacts of the global pandemic.
In the North Okanagan, the Interior Health Authority (IHA) is the lead agency in the response to the community impact of the COVID-19 virus.
The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) advises that British Columbians should make an effort to limit travel to only when needed, and to avoid travel to other regions unless it is essential.
On November 7, 2020, an order of the Provincial Health Officer limited non-essential travel to and from the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health regions, until at least November 23, 2020.
If you must visit Vernon during this time, Tourism Vernon recommends contacting hoteliers directly for their individual health and safety policies.
