What's On in March

Check out our monthly round up what is going on and what the locals are up to in March. Early spring in Vernon is that magical time of year when you can golf, ski, paddleboard, and mountain bike all in the same day. Choose your own path this March in the Trails Capital of BC.

Outdoor Adventure

  • Enjoy the finest spring alpine & nordic skiing at SilverStar Mountain Resort and at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre.
  • At the end of March, head up to Silver Star for the Seismic Spring Mountain Festival (March 29 - April 7) - a celebration of mountain culture, with 10 days of sport, music, art, craft, and culinary. It's a week of good vibes, amazing spring skiing, and fun times for the entire family. 
  • Golf season is just beginning! Courses typically open late March/early April - start planning your trip here and follow us on Instagram for opening dates. 
  • The lower trails are drying out for some stellar mountain biking at Kalamalka Lake and Ellison Provincial Parks. Follow the North Okanagan Cycling Society for trail maps and conditions updates.

Family Fun

Okanagan Science Centre

Join the Okanagan Science Centre every Wednesday for the Little Scientists program! Geared for ages 2-5, this come and go event is weekly, every Wednesday 10-11a.m. Meet with one of the science programmers and experience a different science activity each week. Pre-registration is not required! Bring your coffee and little scientist and come and meet with other STEM buddies. Regular admission rates in effect. Free for members.

Beyond Belief Escape Rooms

Plan your escape in Beyond Belief's new 90-minute escape room, "Game Time." This immersive experience is jam packed with puzzles, twists and excitement, as you fight the clock to escape the dressing room to make it out on the ice before the game.

  • Vernon's most appetizing event is back! Discover Vernon's global cuisines from a mix of unique restaurants and bistros, all in one spot. The Taste of Downtown is 11am-3pm on March 16. 
  • Get ready for Cambium Cider Co's reopening on March 22 and experience some of the best cider and pizza in the valley.
  • Discover hidden gems downtown like Los Huesos Mexican Restaurant and Midtown Bistro. Then wander the boutiques and shops lining Vernon's historic main street.

Arts & Culture

  • Experience some of the finest live jazz at the Vernon Jazz Club - the Tom Keenlyside Quartet plays March 9, or plan ahead and get tickets for one of the 3 shows in April. 
  • Explore new worlds at the art exhibit, Landscapes, Real & Imagined at the Vernon Community Arts Centre. For this exhibit, local artists were tasked to draw inspiration from the world around them and translate it with their own unique vision and artistic style.
  • Get tickets for one of many March performances at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre, including comedy, dance, music, and theatre performances.
