Pre-requisite: Intended for VCAC clay studio members who have completed a 6 or 8 week beginner class.  All participants must be 17 years or older.

Hate how your handles feel? Want to get out of the handle rut or even just get a little refresher on how to make handles? Come join Sabrina in this 3-hour focus session that is all about handles. Learn how you can slab, pull, roll, or extrude handles to change the style and effect of your pieces. Dive into practical tips for handle placement to ensure comfort, balance, and visual harmony.

Please bring your favourite clay body,  a few leather-hard pieces you’d like to practice attaching handles to, plus 2–3 plain cylinders (either handbuilt or thrown) to serve as test forms. These “testers” will be used to experiment with different handle shapes and placements.  Clay must be purchased at the VCAC.

Note: Glazing is not included in this workshop. Qualified clay studio members can glaze their pieces during drop-in glaze sessions, while non-members can take their green or bisque-fired work and glaze at their regular studios.

Date: Thursday, July 31, 5:30-8:30 PM
