Vernon is an outdoor enthusiast and agricultural hub centrally located in the Okanagan Valley in B.C. Our beautiful city is conveniently reached via car, bus, or plane ride.
For those travelling by air, the Kelowna International Airport lies just 30 minutes south. For those travelling by car, Vernon sits at the intersection of Highways 97 and Highway 6. Highway 1 is just 45 minutes north. We are 441 km from Vancouver, BC, 556 km from Calgary, AB, and 184 km from the US/Canada border.
By Plane
The Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is 30 minutes south of Vernon and provides national and international flights daily. Several airlines fly in and out of the Kelowna International Airport, which serves all the communities within the Okanagan Valley.
For the recreational pilots flying into the Okanagan, Vernon Regional Airport is worth the waypoint. Our airport has uncontrolled airspace, minimal traffic, and landing here is a whole lot easier than threading into YLW. Downtown Vernon is 10 minutes out — close enough to grab dinner, stay over, and still make an early departure. Car rentals are on site (reserve ahead), and Uride rideshare and taxis are available. It's the kind of stop that turns a fuel-and-go into a proper layover.
By Bus
eBus provides routes from Vancouver, Kamloops and Kelowna, dropping off in downtown Vernon at the Esso station located at 3400 - 32 Street.
