Halloween Series: Biohazard Petri Dishes

Step into the lab (if you dare!) and create your very own creepy-crawly “biohazard” in a petri dish. Using safe, colorful materials, you’ll design eerie bacterial blobs, fuzzy fungal growths, or mysterious glowing goo — no real germs, just spooky science fun!

Learn how scientists use petri dishes to grow and study microorganisms, then unleash your creativity to make a Halloween-inspired sample you can take home. Will yours look like alien slime, monster mold, or a mutant microbe?

It’s gross, it’s goofy, and it’s 100% safe to touch — perfect for little mad scientists!

Cost: $5/per youth (under 18 years old) – adults attend free!
