Farm to Fork, also known as Farm to Table, is a way of life in our area, where fresh fruits and vegetables are plentiful. We also have several beef, pork, and poultry producers in the valley. Farm to Fork is easy here. Just head down to the Farmers' Market and create your own dishes. Should you want someone else to do the cooking, many of our local restaurants use local produce and some grow it right on site. Here are a few for you to discover:
This family run farm sells and creates dishes with everything they grow here. Spend the day with friends and family at Davison Orchards and have lunch at their patio café. Make sure you have some mouth watering baking from the Farmhouse Bakery, and some of their freshly pressed pure apple juice, it tastes like nature in a bottle! When you want to take a little taste of the Okanagan home with you, their online store features a huge selection of homemade preserves, gourmet specialty foods, and country gifts, and in-season produce.
Overlooking the golf course, the Range Lounge & Grill offers diners globally-inspired new age fusion fare using the freshest ingredients that are are locally and responsibly sourced whenever possible. Since 1870, Helmuts Sausage Kitchen have been creating authentic artisan meats, and for the past 50 years have been doing so in the Okanagan. Through three generations, their European-trained sausage makers have been employing sustainable agriculture best practices, finding the highest-quality, locally-sourced ingredients and using compassionate animal care protocols, all while finding a way to stick to authentic recipes, while finding room for healthy options. This multi-faceted agri-tourism business includes a home-style bistro, bakery & much more! Weekend and holiday brunch runs from May to September, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bakery is open year round.
Located at 2539 Pleasant Valley Blvd. in Armstrong, (20 minutes north of Vernon) the Wild Oak has simple food with big flavours. Muffins, pies, soups and melts are just some of the tasty treats you'll find here. This kid friendly café is known for its great coffee and its hands on local owners.
