Join us on the last Saturday of each month, Family Saturdays take place with an art project suitable for both little kids and big kids. Parents/guardians are also encouraged to participate and create their own works of art. The workshop begins promptly at 1 p.m., and families are welcome to stay for the whole session, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or to depart sooner. All materials required for the workshops are provided. To ensure a space, please pre-register online.

January 27 1:00 - 3:30 PM
Sculpting Fairy Houses
This session will begin with a tour of Tammy Salzl’s exhibition, Beautiful Parasites. Much of Salzl’s work is inspired by surrealism, mythology, and folklore. Inspired by the themes and characters in the artwork, we will be making fairy homes.

February 24 1:00 - 3:30 PM
Through the Garden Still Life
We will begin with a tour of Through the Garden by Laurence Belzile. Belzile’s abstract paintings present imaginary places inspired by nature. After the tour, we will be making still life garden and floral paintings.

March 30 1:00 - 3:30 PM
Pysanky Eggs
This session will begin with a tour of the exhibition Art from the Heart, featuring artwork from elementary school students. After viewing the exhibition, we will be making Pysanky eggs to celebrate the beginning of springtime!

April 27 1:00 - 3:30 PM
Gelli Printing
This session will begin with a tour of the exhibition There Must be Life by the Germany based artist, Ulrich J. Wolff. This exhibition predominately uses photography and etching to comment on the deterioration of modernism. Inspired by the materiality of the artwork, we will be gelli printing.
