Larry Vernec is a seasoned jazz bassist who brings deep groove, adventurous improvisation, and decades of combo experience to every room — a Montréal-born player who began formal studies in 1982 and has been a fixture on the jazz scene since the mid-1980s. His self-produced record So It Goes showcases his taste for nimble, nu-jazz improvisation and longstanding collaborations with pianists and drummers from coast to coast. Since relocating to Denver in 2019 Larry has become a go-to bassist for local clubs and festivals, appearing with top regional talent and on well-received live dates. Reviewers and audiences repeatedly praise his steady time, tasteful soloing, and ability to anchor both straight-ahead and more exploratory sets. For this evening, Larry will be joined by Adam Wolff on keys and Scott Gamble on drums.
