Three Local Authors Read Award-winning Poetry

Harold Rhenisch’s, The Salmon Shanties, sings of human relationships with salmon built over the last 22,000 years in our mountain grasslands. The sequel, We are George Ryga, celebrates working people, immigrants, and indigenous people in the Okanagan. It will be launched at the Ryga Festival next September.

Virginia Dansereau's, I Know That Woman, chronicles various aspects of women’s lives from the age of three to eighty-three. Her poems weave through real-life circumstances experienced through herself, family, friends and strangers. Through it all are the nuances of love in all its twists and turns.

Calvin White is a poet, essayist, and prose writer. His last two poetry books received great reviews in the BC Review and the Vancouver Sun. His poems find resonance with the various life experiences that capture all of us. His most recent essays appeared in the Toronto Star and Vancouver Sun in September.
