Trail rating: Moderate with short steep sections
Dip your toes in a waterfall pool and marvel at your surroundings. On a hot summer's day there's nothing better than stepping into a cool, refreshing oasis of forest and water.
Follow BX Creek as it cascades downhill. The falls rage from April to June as snowmelt runoff water roars down from SilverStar Mountain.
In summer and autumn, the trail becomes a tranquil respite from the valley's heat. In winter, hikers can test their snowshoeing skills.
The Tillicum Road trailhead leads a short hike to the waterfalls or waterfall viewpoint. Head past the viewpoint for a longer creekside hike or descend the stairs to a shallow pool at the foot of BX Falls.
Look for: cedars, firs, cottonwoods, birch and ferns.
Watch for: lush canyon plants like Devil's Club, Wild Ginger, horsetails and ferns thriving in the cool, moist canyon.
