Exhale and step off the platform as you race your friends on the Okanagan's only racing zip lines. At Oyama Zipline you can zip beside your friends on this 462 m (1514 ft.) zip line with speeds up to 85 kph (53 mph). The course weaves its way down the mountain towards Kalamalka and Wood lakes. The spectacular scenery will astound you as you whip past orchards, vineyards, alpaca farms and beaches.
You can zip high above the trees or low to the ground. They even have a boomerang line! Zip a half-pipe to the end, stall, then boomerang back the way you came.
Head out to Freedom Flight Park and School and catch some thermal lifts as you hang glide or paraglide in the Lumby valley. The best time to try it is mid-May to mid-September when the thermals are at their best.
Power up and take an intro flight on a trike or ultra light. You need a license to fly them; but the folks at Freedom Flight School are happy to take you up for a buzz. Open by appointment from April through October.
