The murals of Vernon are known around the world for their depiction of the history of our town over the years. They portray the history, culture, scenery, and folklore that made Vernon what it is today. These 28 works of art cover several points in time from cowboys to geishas and as well as important locations, people, and events in our history.
The murals were painted by local artists as a multi-year collaborative effort of youth employment, revitalization, and heritage conservation strategies.
You can take a virtual walking tour of the murals here. You can also download a pdf of the murals' descriptions here, or download the map and mini-descriptors here. In the summer, guided tours may be available through the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives by calling 250-550-3140.
