This nature based activity centre is a great place to visit year round. Located just south of Vernon off 34th St., the Allan Brooks Nature Centre has several events throughout the year. It's also one of the best places to learn about the wildlife in our area.
Learn about preserving habitat corridors or see how you measure up to the wing span of an eagle. Follow the badgers and spade foot toads as well as big horn sheep and gopher snakes, from season to season.
Inside the nature centre you can take a virtual tour of the Okanagan, explore the discovery room and enjoy the featured exhibits. Check out their nature based activities page for more information.
Outdoors, you will find the 800 m (2624 ft.) Grassland Trail, a self-guided tour with interpretation stations. Explore and learn about Marmot City and watch the Yellow-bellied Marmots. There's also a pond learning centre. The views here are spectacular with an almost bird's eye view of the valley and lakes. Don't forget to bring your camera!
As this is a nature centre, there are no pets allowed and children must be supervised. Please check their rules and guidelines before you head out.
