The whole family will enjoy their experience at the Historic O'Keefe Ranch. Open from early May to late September, visiting the ranch is like stepping back in time. You'll find the ranch just a few kilometers from Vernon.
Founded in 1867, O'Keefe Ranch was once at the end of the wagon road into the Okanagan Valley and the site of the stage coach depot. The ranch became a self-contained community, with a Post Office, blacksmith shop, grist mill, and even its own church and cemetery. Many of the original buildings still exist and you are welcome to explore them. Once you're done, make sure you check out the model railway display.
There are animals at this farm; however, you are asked not to feed them. At O'Keefe they breed Jacob Sheep, an ancient and rare breed that can have up to six horns! They also have Shetland sheep, peacocks, African Geese, Golden Pheasants, Silkies, Silver Spangled Hamburgs, and several other varieties of chickens. Keep an eye out for Thomas (the turkey) as he is the supreme ruler of the yard.
O'Keefe Ranch holds several events throughout the year, including their much loved Corn Maze, a Victorian Christmas and blacksmith courses. Check out their events and activities page for more information.
