Discover a new way to create poetry using words you already have! Transform phrases from old books, magazines, newspapers, and other printed materials into an original found poem, then add your own creative touches using colour, texture, and mixed-media materials.
The first hour is dedicated to creating, with plenty of inspiration and materials to explore at your own pace. During the second hour, participants are invited to share their creations during a relaxed, welcoming open mic. Not ready to share? No problem. Creation stations will remain open throughout the event so you can continue creating.
This Culture Days event is a collaboration between the Vernon Community Arts Centre and the Okanagan Regional Library - Vernon Branch, bringing together creativity, words, and community.
No writing or art experience is necessary. Just bring your curiosity. All materials are provided. Ages 15+ welcome.
