June is full of vibrant events and activities celebrating the diversity and inclusivity within our welcoming community. With the summer solstice coming up, it is the perfect time to embrace the outdoors on the trails, lakes and patios. Celebrate Vernon Pride Week & Pride Month

June is not only Pride Month but also the new Vernon Pride Week celebration happening from June 2 - 8. The week is jam packed with fun events for all ages and EVERYONE is invited. Some highlights this year include PRIDEology Breakfast at EATology, That's Gay! Comedy show at the Powerhouse Theatre and Gay Cabaret & Pride Party on Saturday evening.  Finish off a week of fun with the Common Unity event celebrating pride, Go By Bike Week and the Arts Council of the North Okanagan's Rail Trail Plein Air event.

June 21st is Indigenous Peoples Day

The 3rd Annual Komasket Powwow is happening June 6 - 8 at the Komasket Arbour.  This amazing event features drummers, dancers, food vendors, artisan crafts and so much more. The event is free and if you have never been to a traditional Powwow before, it is highly recommended to experience this immersive, culture event honouring the past and empowering the present.

SilverStar Bike Park Opens for the Season

Mark your calendars for June 20th as SilverStar Bike Park kicks off their summer season.  Get ready to ride and purchase your day tickets in advance online. June 21st is the kick off to the Silver Star Summer Music series where you can catch live music in the village all season long on Saturdays from 4-6pm. Cheer on the trail runners at the finish line for the Slay the Dragon race on Saturday. Visit the new pop-up restaurant, La Plata, this summer in the Village. The vibes will be high all weekend at Silver Star!
