There is so much to see and do here in Okanagan. Take a day trip and explore other communities in the area and then return to Vernon to enjoy our hospitality and fine amenities.
Armstrong, located 20 minutes north of Vernon, is known for its heritage buildings and charming old west downtown area. It is also home to the famous Interior Provincial Exhibition and Stampede.
Cherryville, about 40 minutes east of Vernon on Hwy. 6, is nestled at the base of the Monashee Mountains. Cherryville is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and artisans alike.
Enderby can be found on the banks of the Shuswap River, in the shadow of the Enderby cliffs. You can spend the day at farm and garden markets, or take in a drive-in movie at the Starlight, where you'll find North America's largest drive-in movie screen.
Falkland is 40 minutes northwest of Vernon and is well known as an outdoorsy town. There are 10 lakes within 10 miles, and it is the home to the Falkland Stampede.
Kamloops is one of the larger cities in the area and is known as Canada's Tournament Capital. There you'll find an abundance of recreational opportunities all year round. It is located 80 minutes northwest of Vernon.
Kelowna is the largest and fastest growing city in the Okanagan. Located 45 minutes from Vernon, Kelowna is set against an impressive backdrop of mountains and lakes. It's also home to the Canadian Culinary Championships, held each year in February.
The District of Lake Country is near the centre of the Okanagan Valley and is made up of four distinct communities: Oyama, Winfield, Carr's Landing and Okanagan Centre. It is 20 minutes south of Vernon.
Salmon Arm, situated at the southern most point of Shuswap Lake, about 45 minutes north of Vernon, is a world-famous recreation area. Shuswap Lake is perfect for going on houseboat adventures.
Spallumcheen is north of Vernon, just before Armstrong. It is one of the oldest and largest municipalities in the southern Interior of BC and boasts a rich agricultural heritage.
