Vernon has some great bakeries. Getting there early is usually the norm, as they do sell out quickly. Many of the local coffee shops and cafés make their own baked goods as well.
Bonsai Bagels is the Okanagan's only Montreal-style bagel shop. Specializing in traditional crunchy and chewy bread rings, it is also a fiercely independent and funky coffee shop owned and operated by a Vernon local.
Located on Anderson Way, just off 27th Street, COBS Bread bakers are up early making bread from scratch. Their bread has no added sugar, colour or preservatives and is made from 100% whole grain flour. At the end of each day, all their leftover bread is donated to local charities.

This is one of those bakeries that also doubles as a great coffee shop. Every Friday, Ratio serves fresh, hand-made donuts that have locals and tourists alike lining up for a taste of Chef Laurie's work of art. Located at Vernon's Historic CPR Station you are advised to get there early as they sell out quickly.
Sweet Caroline's Bakery was voted the #1 Bakery in the North Okanagan for five consecutive years. Their history goes back to 1888. They are a true artisan bakery, specializing in breads, pastries and cakes. They make everything right on location and are proud of their European Dutch background.
