NOHS Memorial Butterfly Release
Join us for a meaningful and memorable Butterfly Release at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre, overlooking the breathtaking views of Vernon and the surrounding valley. This peaceful setting provides the perfect space for reflection, connection, and remembrance.
If you are unable to attend the Memorial Butterfly Release in person but would still like to honour a loved one, you may purchase a butterfly in their memory. Please provide the name of the individual you wish to remember, and a butterfly will be released on your behalf during the ceremony.
There are 2 release times are offered: 10:00am & 11:05am.
Each butterfly released is a powerful symbol of love, hope, and transformation. Many participants choose to dedicate their butterfly in memory or honour of someone special, creating a shared and heartfelt moment as the butterflies take flight together. Others simply take part in the experience, releasing a butterfly as a gesture of hope, healing, or connection to the beauty of the moment.
Guests are also invited to honour loved ones by writing a name or personal message on a paper butterfly, which will become part of a shared remembrance display. These will be thoughtfully included in a future remembrance ceremony, offering a gentle way to carry memories forward.
Guests will also have the opportunity to visit our Wind Phone, a quiet, reflective space where you can speak words left unsaid, share memories, or simply take a moment of connection with those you are remembering.
Whether you come on your own or with others, this experience offers a beautiful way to honour loved ones, embrace the present, and find comfort in community.
